Beauty and the Beast

And the amazing opportunities keep coming, on Teusday November 15th I got to go see Beauty and the Beast. The show was phennomanal. The costumes of not only Belle but all of them were beautiful. The scenery was just so amazing how they replicated the movie and how it goes from one extreme to another. But the musicality wasnt always on point, but it still was a great show!
Then on November 16th I got two more oppurtunites. First, I got the chance to sit in on a meet and greet with some of the cast. Second, I got to meet with the stage director and we also got a backstage tour before their show that night. When I met with the cast, the characters we got to meet were, Mrs.Pots, Beast, Lumiere, and Cogsworth. They explained how they got where they are today and their points of view about the play and Broadway, how they prepare for a show, and where they started. But going on the tour backstage was so amazing. Seeing the preparation before the show the set-up and how things work. We also got to ask questions and a question asked was "How do you make the illusions happen in the play?". The answer from the stage manager was "Disney Magic" and thats all he told us. This show is a must see, it is magical..."Disney Magical"!!!

Miami City Ballet:Program I

On Friday night I got the chance to go see the Miami City Ballet, at the Broward Center. It was amazing. Not only did I love it because I am a dancer but it made me appreciate dance, especially ballet, alot more than I already did. It starts out with a dance called "Sqaure Dance" it was the opening number. It was a very beautiful piece with each female partnered with a male. Then  there was an intermission. When I came back, the next two dances were duets with guys and girls one was a love duet and the other was more intense but still passionate. Then there was a second intermission. Then it was the final number. Wow it blew me out of my seat it was about breaking out of jail but like I couldnt concentrate on trying to get the story I couldnt stop watching the moves. It didnt even seem like ballet at this point in the show. It seemed more of like a contemporary dance which is my favorite. Wow I cant wait to go see another ballet.

Jon & Jaun's Wedding

On Friday night I got to see a different kind of play from a different point of view. I had the priviledge to see Jon & Jaun's wedding but I was not in the audience, it was as a server for the wedding. This was an interactive play about a gay marriage there are many different interactions with the audience who second as  guests at the wedding and different family conflicts throughout the night. This was something different then I had ever seen before, but I do recommend to go see it. It was a hilarious play with many knee slapping jokes. But I don't recommend to serve for it. This experience as a server taught me two lessons, one I don't ever want to wait on others its really hard work, I will stick with what I love, the theatre. And two I would so much rather be in the audience enjoying the show, than waiting on the audience and only able to catch glimpses of a great show!

Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles

Recently I was accepted as a Teen Ambassador for the Broward Center for Performing Arts. I am looking forward to this new adventure, I hope to get many of my friends and family to enjoy the performing arts just as much as I do.
I had the privilege last night of attending opening night of Rain. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, was it a play about the Beatles,or was it a musical perhaps?
When we first got to the theatre there were GoGo dancers on top of psychedelic boxes dancing. They were handling out multicolored lollipops, it was pretty cool. The show started and it was like being at an actual Beatles concert. There were four guys dressed just like the Beatles would, their costumes throughout the show were really good replicas of what they might have worn. I'm not really sure cause I wasn't alive back then but my parents said the costumes were pretty dead on .
I am into Beatles music so it was so cool to actually feel like I was experiencing it first hand. There had to be at least 3 different generations at this show, from the very young to the very old. And everyone was up out of their seats dancing and singing to the music. I have to say it wasn't at all what I expected, it was sooooo much better.
This afternoon I attended the RAIN Q&A Workshop with my mom. It was interesting to learn about details from behind the scenes, and about the different musicians that play the key roles and about their lives on the road.
The show is at the Broward Center from now til October 16th. Trust me its definitely a great time!
